its been so fun to revisit a long time fave series!!!! :) i love them both but i think you can tell which one ive been gripped by this week
“I could fix him” well I could be the one person he’s nice to and soft with, while he remains just as unbelievably awful as ever to everyone else <3
“tumblr is not easy to use” girl hunderds of thousands of people figured it out. it’s not rocket science
i do think it could be good to implement a tutorial. i can imagine it is a bit intimidating to join tumblr when all you’re used to is tiktok, insta, twitter etc. eventually people figure it out on their own but a bit of support wouldn’t hurt! just. don’t change the entire platform to try and appease these confused newbies
it sure does feel good to be punk
Who is/was the most beefy carnivore with the strongest upper body strength? Can be literal or pound for pound!
well, teeeechnically, the strongest carnivore to ever live is the blue whale! but they only get that title for being so hugelarge.
pound for pound is a bit trickier to measure; it’s not like i can just get every large carnivore inside a 24 hour fitness and tell them all to bench press their one rep max.
as far as cats go, extinct taxa like smilodon and xenosmilus are known for having robust, muscular upper bodies with fearsome shoulders and arms. in this regard, the less clouted xenosmilus genus actually has smilodon beat; the single species within xenosmilus has both larger shoulder blades and thicker limb bones than any of the three smilodon species.
(check out the shoulders on this weapon of an animal, xenosmilus hodsonae. known only from a few localities in florida, this strange cat had a body more like a large bear than any cat you’ve ever seen!)
a less likely felid competitor in this bracket would be the modern day leopard! though they’re one of the smallest of the living pantherine cats, leopards are pound for pound some of the strongest. experts claim that leopards are capable of hauling carcasses heavier than themselves up to fifteen feet vertically while climbing a tree. and that’s all with nothing to grip onto their prize but their face! imagine having to deadlift an adult man using only your teeth.*
unfortunately for our feline friends, i do think bears have them beat in this metric. grizzlies can allegedly lift five hundred pounds with only one paw. that’s like a grizzly bear holding a black bear in one hand! i don’t know exactly how this number was obtained, but it’s estimated that a grizzly bear’s max lift is about 80% of its own body weight. in some cases, this is over half a ton!
if anybody in the carnivoran extended family is juicing, it’s these guys.
*jaguars can do this to an extent too, but since theyre apex predators and nothing on god’s green earth scares them enough to make them actually want to carry their food up a tree. thus, it’s a bit hard to tell what they’re actually capable of.

SAG-AFTRA and the WGA are now filing labor complaints against NBCUniversal for attempts to disrupt their strike efforts.
This includes not only trimming trees that were providing shade to picketers, but tearing up the sidewalk on the picket line, forcing picketers to walk in the streets, which resulted in two picketers being struck by cars.
